I'm a bit behind on blogging these days, I realize, and therefore a bit late in posting this. However I consider it a huge accomplishment and can't let it slip by unannounced. During the course of 2010, I participated in a photographic essay project called Project 365. It's an intensive creative photography project where you take a a photo (or series of photos) every day for an entire year. With a few exceptions I managed to get a photo almost every day in 2010. This is my completed P365 gallery! If you like scrapbooking you can view the scrapbooked pages HERE. I'm so glad to have made it the whole year, but I don't think I'll be doing it again anytime soon. Instead I've decided to do a less intensive version called Project 52, with weekly photos rather than daily. These projects help develop creativity and perspective and teach me things I didn't know before, which is something every artist could use! =)

Wedding Celebration Tour
On November 6th 2010 my two dear friends Kristy & Calen were married atop a mountain in Colorado in a private ceremony attended by the bride, the groom, the minister & a witness. They decided to share their joy & happiness with friends & family back in Texas by throwing a reception where everyone could view the wedding ceremony video. It was lovely and romantic. They partied with friends and family after and enjoyed a nice homecoming from everyone.
They asked me to photograph their reception. But first we had to get a few shots of the bride & groom together along with their families before hand. So we chose a beautiful location that was the epitome of autumn. Calen & Kristy are naturals when it comes to taking photos. No posing, no instruction really....just them naturally. After pictures began the fabulous reception where guests watched the wedding video and then welcomed Calen & Kristy onstage to talk about their intimate ceremony. The traditions were observed with the cutting of the cakes and the toasts, followed by dancing, dancing and more dancing.
Calen & Kristy are such a fun couple and their reception was a joy & privilege for me to photograph. I was very happy to be part of their 2nd big day! =) You can view the entire wedding album HERE.

sisters, mother & son, mother & daughter...
On Halloween I had the pleasure of shooting a very fun & energetic bunch. First we had sisters...twins to be exact. Then each sister wanted some photos with their respective children. Ruth & Rachel you've seen before. Rachel is a senior at SFA. Ruth's twin sister Katherine was in town and wanted some photos with her son Zack who's a senior in high school. We took photos all over the SFA campus and then moved down to the South Street bridge that provides an amazing natural backdrop and fantastic lighting. You can view more of their session HERE.

a family in fall....
One of my good friends and fellow photographers needed family photos done of her family. I also needed family photos of MY family. So we decided to trade family photo sessions for each other! It was a great idea because we each got exactly the kind of photos we were looking for and were long over due for. They are a beautiful family and so photogenic that the session was a complete breeze. I give you the Phillips! =)

a new baby on the way...
One of my husband's co-workers said she needed maternity photos of herself and family photos with her family. So we planned for a few weeks on when & where. This past weekend I had the pleasure of taking their photographs. I give you Meagan, Brian, Luke and baby-on-the-way.

Baby Ian
A dear friend of mine gave birth to her first child at the end of September. As a "baby gift" to her I told her I wanted to do Ian's newborn photo session. He was adorable and oh so small even at almost 4 wks old. He was a sweetie!

modeling Kaitlin
Testing out my new "mini sessions", I used my friend Kaitlin as a guinea pig to see how quickly I could do a quality photo shoot. We shot her session in 20 minutes and got several great photos. Thanks Kaitlin.
